Professor Graubart is a historian of colonial Latin America and the larger Iberian Atlantic world. She is completing a book that examines how "difference" was constructed, maintained, and elided in fifteenth century Seville (Spain) and sixteenth-seventeenth century Lima (Peru). She is particularly interested in gender, race, ethnicity, law, and space and also works in GIS and mapping.
