The National Theatre presents a major new production of William Shakespeare’s celebrated play about the destructive power of jealousy. Newly married to Desdemona, Othello is appointed leader of a major military operation. Passed over for promotion by Othello, Iago persuades Othello that the young Cassio and Desdemona are having an affair. Olivier Award-winning actors Adrian Lester (Henry V) and Rory Kinnear (Hamlet, The Last of the Haussmans, Skyfall) star as Othello and Iago under the direction of Nicholas Hytner (Hamlet, Timon of Athens, One Man, Two Guvnors).
