This year's annual Conway Lecturer, Professor Emeritus William J. Courtenay, will deliver a lecture series entitled "Religious Ritual and Prayers for the Dead in the Medieval University of Paris." All lectures will be held at the Eck Visitors Center on September 29, October 4, and October 6, starting at 5 p.m.

Tonight's lecture is entitled "Candles for Our Lady: Arts Faculty Nations as Confraternities." Please join us afterward in the atrium for a reception.

This lecture will be followed by "Gaudy Night: Colleges and Prayers for the Dead" on Tuesday, October 4th, and "A Hidden Presence: Women and the University of Paris" on Thursday, October 6th.
