The power to lead is the power to transform. Notre Dame is proud to celebrate women whose scholarship and leadership are leaving an indelible imprint on the global community.

Medieval Institute fellow Margot Fassler was featured in this Women Lead series on International Women's Day. Fassler is Keough-Hesburgh Professor of Music History and Liturgy, director of the Sacred Music at Notre Dame Program, and a professor of musicology and ethnomusicology at Women Lead. She is also the recipient of a number of prestigious awards for her work in medieval studies, including the 2012 Otto Gründler Book Prize for The Virgin of Chartres: Making History Through Liturgy and the Arts (Yale University Press, 2010).
