Learned Societies Issue Joint Statement Opposing U.S. Proposal to Tax Tuition Waivers

The Medieval Academy of America has joined more than thirty other learned societies in signing a statement in opposition to the proposed tax on graduate student tuition waivers. Together with our sister societies, we "call on Members of Congress to reject this proposal and stand up for the future of American higher education. We further urge the members of our organizations to contact their Members of Congress and encourage them to act to ensure tuition waivers remain tax-free." Read the full statement here.
