Profile

Kelsi is a fourth-year student in the Medieval Institute and is currently working on her dissertation on the early cult of relics under Dr. Robin Jensen's direction. She is exploring the theories that theologians developed to justify (or condemn) the veneration of saints' remains at the beginning stages of the practice in the fourth and fifth centuries. Kelsi also participates in MI working groups on the reception history of classical school texts and ancient attitudes towards images. One of her favorite experiences of graduate school so far has been teaching elementary Latin.
