“Gendering Demographic Change in Medieval Europe”

Maryanne Kowaleski, Joseph Fitzpatrick S.J. Distinguished Professor and Director of Medieval Studies, Fordham University, is a specialist in maritime history and has published on a wide variety of issues related to medieval economics, demographics, and gender. She is the editor of several websites that provide extensive bibliographic resources for the study of the Middle Ages. Prof. Kowaleski is president-elect of the Medieval Academy of America.
