“Reframing the Black Death in Terms of Global History”

This seminar will give some background about the developments in genetics and history leading up to a forthcoming special issue of a new journal, The Medieval Globe.  We will discuss the opportunities and challenges that come from attempting multidisciplinary work, as well as the question of how document-based historians can begin to incorporate materialist histories into their work.

Prof. Monica Green will conduct a seminar for graduate student medievalists today. Seating is limited and available to Notre Dame students BY RESERVATION ONLY. A box lunch will be provided for participants at the conclusion of the seminar.

If you are interested in attending, contact Roberta Baranowski NO EARLIER THAN September 19. A list of readings will be provided.
