Graduate Seminar: Alice-Mary Talbot

-

Location: 715J Hesburgh Library (MI Seminar Room A)

Conway Lecturer Alice-Mary Talbot will offer an informal seminar for graduate students on the general state of Byzantine studies (current issues, areas for future exploration, research trends, etc.). Bring your questions and join in a free-form discussion.

Those who are unfamiliar with this area of medieval studies will have an opportunity to ask a leading scholar in the field how to engage with Byzantine source material and bring it into your own teaching and scholarship.

Those who are working in the area already may bring their burning questions, research conundrums, or specific methodological problems and get some helpful advice.

Box lunches will be available at noon, and the conversation can continue over refreshments.

Reserve a place by emailing rbaranow@nd.edu if you plan to attend the seminar, and indicate whether you would like a box lunch (vegetarian, turkey, roast beef, or ham).
