Program Description

In anticipation of a two-day conference on "Objective Idealism Today" taking place in Bamberg, Germany, in late July 2025, organizers will hold eight online events, each lasting an hour and a half, between the end of January and the end of March 2025. These sessions will cover a wide range of central and socially relevant philosophical topics in light of objective idealism. Proceeding in a dialogical format consistent with that of the conference, each lecture will receive a response from Vittorio Hösle, Paul G. Kimball Professor of Arts and Letters at the University of Notre Dame.

The individual presentations will each begin at 4:00 PM CET (Central European Time). You will receive the access link to the Zoom conference on the same day at 2:00 PM CET. The presentation and discussion will take place in the language of the respective title of the event. If you have any questions or issues, please write to the organizers at: obj-idealismus-heute.phil2@uni-bamberg.de

This lecture series and the subsequent conference are co-sponsored by the University of Bamberg and the University of Notre Dame, with more information regularly being posted to the program website here. Graduate students at the University of Notre Dame are also encouraged to apply for funding to attend the conference and/or a summer seminar taught by Prof. Hösle in Bamberg (more information available here).
