Kathryn O'Callaghan Awarded Honorary Mention in Notre Dame Magazine's 13th Annual Young Alumni Essay Contest

We are delighted to announce that our talented administrative coordinator Kathryn O'Callaghan has been awarded Honorary Mention in Notre Dame Magazine's 13th Annual Young Alumni Essay Contest. 

In her essay, "I Swallowed the Moon," she vividly explores in her relationship with her younger brother and how she has witnessed his journey in a world that can shy away from a diagnosis of disability.

If only love could be made visible, then the world might see me like Mary Hatch when George describes her swallowing the moon; this love for my brother is shooting out my fingers and toes and the ends of my hair, illuminating every part of my life.
