“Christianity and Culture in the Middle Ages”: A Conference in Honor of John Van Engen’s 35 Years of Teaching at Notre Dame

A group of John Van Engen’s former graduate students have organized a conference to honor his contributions to medieval studies on the thirty-fifth anniversary of his arrival at the University of Notre Dame. It will focus on the three main themes running through Van Engen’s scholarly work: the Christianization problematic, twelfth-century culture, and late medieval religious life.
The conference, entitled “Christianity and Culture in the Middle Ages,” includes two days of papers, organized into six sessions. A detailed program is available on line.
