Dr. Katie Bugyis, Alumna of the Medieval Institute, Wins Joy Foundation Fellowship

Katie Bugyis (Ph.D., 2015) recently became a Joy Foundation Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies at Harvard University.  She is already part way through her 2018-2019 fellowship and will continue to spend the academic year conducting research for her current book Liturgy Matters: Benedictine Women’s Communities in Medieval England

Bugyis’ scholarship focuses on medieval religious women and liturgical practices.  Her research has won multiple awards and earned her grants and research funding from the American Council of Learned Societies, the Medieval Academy of America, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Pontifical Institute of Medieval Studies.
