Fire Devastates the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris

We were all stunned this week to see a devastating fire break out at the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, a medieval treasure beloved not just by France but the world over.

The Medieval Academy issued a statement earlier this week about the fire and restoration efforts; you can read the full press release. 

Margot Fassler, Keough-Hesburgh Professor of Music History and Liturgy; Director, Program of Sacred Music; and Fellow of the Medieval Institute here at the University of Notre Dame, also spoke via video interview about the significance of the cathedral to sacred music.
